Dr. laine powell

Dr. Laine Powell is the founder and executive director of Tech Sassy Girlz, a non-profit organization dedicated to building the future workforce by transforming the lives of adolescent girls to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields through career readiness, mentoring and entrepreneurship.

Taking on the challenge head-on of addressing the notable shortage of girls and women in STEM fields, Dr. Powell created the organization in 2012 to address the critical shortage of women and minorities being represented in high-tech STEM careers. She firmly believes that leveraging technology is an opportunity for girls to be content creators, makers and entrepreneurs. To date, Tech Sassy Girlz has served over 3,000 girls.
Dr. Powell is also the vice president for AceApplications, LLC, a technology solutions provider for businesses, schools, and government agencies. AceApplications delivers custom software, systems integration, mobile app and web development, data analytics and reporting, training and IT staff augmentation.


In 2016, Dr. Powell was invited by the White House to present STEM Access for Marginalized Girls. Dr. Powell has been recognized as one of Orange Appeal Magazine’s 2023 Woman of the Year, 2022 Heart of Florida United Way Change Maker, Onyx Magazine’s 2022 Woman on the Move, Orlando Business Journal’s 2021 Women Who Mean Business, 2021Orlando Magic Social Justice Game Changer, Orlando Magazine’s 2020 Woman of the Year, WESH 2 News and Orlando Magic Community Champion and received the 2021 WTS International Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership award, African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida Eagle Award, i4Business Magazine Spirit of Collaboration award, University of Central Florida Trailblazer Award, featured on PBS, NPR, ABC and received a host of other community and professional awards. Dr. Powell has been published in the Orlando Sentinel and the Orlando Business Journal.
Dr. Powell is currently featured in the Legacy of Excellence: Phenomenal Black Women in Central Florida Exhibit at the Women’s History & Cultural Center! Created to highlight the lives and legacies of African-American women who have significantly contributed to the Greater Orlando area, this exhibit features women from a variety of professional fields who have shattered glass ceilings and laid the foundation for generations to come. The exhibit will run through April 30, 2024.

In the community, Dr. Powell is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the University of Florida Alumni Association, serves on the boards of Florida Polytechnic University, Florida Network of Youth and Family Services, NAF Information Technology Academy and the Women’s Business Center at Seminole State College.

Dr. Powell received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Florida, Master of Education from the Pennsylvania State University, Master of Science in Management from the University of Central Florida and her doctorate in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. Powell is married to her college sweetheart, Courtney.

Ashunta Sheriff-Kendricks

Two decades in the beauty industry has prepared Ashunta for a beautiful, new entrepreneurial journey. Renowned for her flawless makeup artistry, she has “beat” the faces of one-name level Hollywood A-listers like Rihanna, Taraji, Zendaya and more. So, in 2022 she launched her signature makeup line, Ashunta Sheriff Beauty and the young brand is already receiving notable acclaim and press because of Ashunta’s undeniable skill, mentorship and commitment to diversity both in beauty and in opportunity.

Soyini Chang

Soyini is a forward-thinking leader and visionary. She has partnered with numerous businesses improving client loyalty, employee retention, and employee satisfaction, resulting in increased revenue and market share including broadening a developmental pipeline into diverse markets, suppliers, and employees. She is a highly regarded trainer, workshop facilitator, and speaker who is focused on advancing the workplace through diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Branden Thompson

Branden Thompson is entrepreneur, cryptocurrency connoisseur, and rapper dedicated to educating and championing financial literacy and success. Branden started his career at The Boeing Company as an engineer, but soon found corporate life to be too restricting. As he became a successful cryptocurrency investor, he recruited his brother, Bryce Thompson, and together they created the Tradehouse Investment Group. Branden has created a platform where he educates people through inspirational speaking events and his songs, under his rap name’ Sir Trilli. His goal is to bring financial success to those struggling as he once was and to give back to his community in Houston, TX.

Kay Y. Wallace

As managing director of her innovative startup, SeedLink, Kay utilizes the same skill sets she honed for close to 25 years coaching C-Suite level Fortune 100 executives, to now benefit entry-level college students and their parents. The SeedLink program helps new college students navigate through their academic journeys and prepares senior students to successfully commence professional careers in an increasingly remote/hybrid, tech-reliant workforce.

Branson Wright

Wright has produced highly-acclaimed films including the HBO documentary “Women of Troy,” ESPN’s 30-for-30 “Believeland,” and Amazon Prime’s “King of the Block.”

An accomplished filmmaker, producer, writer, and director, Wright is also a nationally known sportswriter covering all genres of sports for nearly 30 years.

Shawntia Lee

Shawntia Lee- A trailblazing founder of College Thriver – A platform powered by artificial intelligence, that connects underserved students with the best colleges, provides individualized mentorship, and provides targeted scholarship feedback, giving them a powerful edge when applying to desirable colleges. Shawntia also serves on the NAWBO Board of Directors (National Association of Women Business Owners chapter in Orlando). Shawntia has successfully raised $130,000 in funding through pitch competitions, accelerators, grants and angel investors. Shawntia is passionate about empowering underserved communities through solutions that remove systemic barriers to education.

Dr. Joan Palmiter Bajorek

Ranked the#4 in Voice AI Influencer, Dr. Joan Palmiter Bajorek is the CEO of Clarity AI, Founder of Women in Voice, and Host of Your AI Roadmap. With a decade in software and AI, she has worked at Nuance and OneReach.ai in data, product, analysis, and innovation. A keynote speaker and Harvard Business Review contributor, she has a PhD and MA and is based in Seattle.

Aliya Anjarwalla

Aliya is a sustainability professional with over 10 years of experience in the clean energy and climate adaptation space in the US, Europe, and Africa. She started her career as a management consultant with Accenture in London, where she advised energy companies on their renewable energy portfolio investment strategies. Aliya subsequently worked in East Africa with the World Bank on several programs aimed at increasing access to electricity through off-grid renewable energy solutions, as well as initiatives to build communities’ resilience to climate change. In her current role as Senior Project Manager at ecoPreserve, Aliya advises various US-based government and private-sector organizations on their sustainability strategies, including their energy use management and EV transition plans. She has a degree in Earth Sciences from Oxford University and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of London SOAS.

Dr. Marlon ‘Doc’ Fuller

Meet a multifaceted leader: philanthropist, inventor, entrepreneur, author, musician, director, and devoted father of four. Alongside his wife, Christina, they founded CoolKids.org, impacting 25,000+ lives with free financial literacy education. Driven by a mission to bridge the wealth gap, he pioneers innovative solutions like his album “The Syllabus” and the JAR TV app, while inspiring audiences worldwide.

Noelle Russell

Noelle Russell is a multi-award-winning technologist with an entrepreneurial spirit who specializes in helping companies with data, cloud, conversational AI, Generative AI, and LLMs. She has led teams at NPR, Microsoft, IBM, AWS and Amazon Alexa, and is a consistent champion for Data and AI literacy and is the founder of the “I ❤️ AI” Community teaching responsible AI for everyone.

She is the founder of the AI Leadership Institute and empowers business owners to grow and scale with AI. In the last year, she was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award for Artificial Intelligence (for the 3rd year) as well as VentureBeat’s Women in AI Responsibility and Ethics award.

Gilda Alvarez

Gilda stands as an inspiring model for Latinas in Data technologies, holding degrees in MIS and Computer Science from the University of Central Florida. With over two decades of impactful leadership in Enterprise Information Technology for Fortune 500 companies. Gilda’s expertise spans security audits, database health checks, capacity planning, and migrations for distinguished organizations like IBM, Disney, IRS, Deloitte, Leidos, etc. Currently leading as the CEO of Waveform Data Solutions, Gilda also champions initiatives that empower Latinas in the tech space, founding Latinas in Data—a mentoring and educational non-profit.

Brian Flaccus

Co-founder of The Knights Young Productions, Brian is a filmmaking multi-hyphenate having written and produced four feature films and a dozen shorts, garnering over 60 festival awards, an NAACP Image Award nomination and qualifying for the Academy Awards twice. His focus is in creative storytelling that fosters cross cultural understanding.

Karen Baptiste

Karen “Dr. K” Baptiste is the film director of the nine time award-winning documentary, Preschool to Prison, and the founder of Preschool to Prison, LLC. Unapologetic in her mission, she supports schools and businesses to dismantle racist systems and policies by replacing it with education and equity that lead to economic power and agency for Black people and people of color that transforms their life.

Tiffani Gay

Tiffani Gay is a junior in High School dedicated to driving global change with technology. She has pursued research for over five years and has presented her work internationally at a variety of events. She received grand awards at ISEF, the Taiwan International Science Fair, the Tunisian International Festival of Engineering Science and Technology, and the International Symposium on Systems Engineering. She is passionate about improving access to science education in marginalized communities and is the Founder and CEO of Future Discovery. She has advocated for equality in STEM through her blog TheMixedResearcher and local initiative GirlsWhoCode. Gay plays violin recreationally and paints in her free time.

Anatola Araba

Anatola is an acclaimed filmmaker, futurist, and founder of Reimagine Story Lab, where she pushes the boundaries of storytelling by fusing art and technology. Her films and immersive experiences have exhibited at the MoMA in NYC, Lincoln Center, Art Basel, and recently made history upon being sent to space in NASA’s first Moon mission since 1972. As an AI visionary, Anatola has spoken at the United Nations, Afrotech, and leading Universities. She has partnered with tech giants like Snapchat and Mozilla to tell innovative stories. Her writing has been published in ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar. Raised in the heart of New York City, Anatola graduated from the prestigious New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. She is on a mission to reimagine the future, one story at a time.

Professor Timothy E. Bates

The “Godfather of Tech,” is a renowned expert in AI, Blockchain, and Immersive Tech. He is currently a pioneering professor for Innovation and Tech at University of Michigan and holds multiple roles as a Fractional CTO for cutting-edge startups. With a background as CTO of Lenovo and Chief Immersive Tech Strategist at General Motors, his expertise is sought by heavyweights like NVIDIA, Deloitte, PwC, and the US Marine Corps.

Erin Reddick

AI Developer and Founder of ChatBlackGPT, has carved a notable path in the technology industry. Her career encompasses significant roles at major tech companies including Meta, Microsoft, and AWS. Reddick’s most impactful contribution to the field is the creation of ChatBlackGPT, an AI software providing perspectives from the Black and African American communities. This innovation reflects her commitment to inclusivity and cultural sensitivity in technology. Reddick’s journey in tech, marked by her identity as a Black woman, involves addressing the racial biases present in AI. Her dedication led her to become a certified ChatGPT Expert and Prompt Engineer, culminating in the development of ChatBlackGPT. This platform aims to offer a safe, inclusive space for exploring AI, specifically tailored to the Black American experience. ChatBlackGPT, under Reddick’s guidance, ensures a response style that is culturally aware and respectful. Reddick’s work is pivotal in diversifying AI, promoting technology that is equitable and representative of diverse experiences. Her efforts are a testament to the importance of inclusive technology development, inspiring further advancements in the field.

Nadia Hionides

Principal, and founder of The Foundation Academy circa 1988, and The Jacksonville Science Festival, Circa 2013.  Current educator and principal of a private school that serves a diverse student group socially, economically, neurotypical, and Nuro-nontypical students, learning in a Project Inquiry Based format. in Jacksonville, Fl. The school is a collaborative experience for students in multi-age classrooms. Teachers collaborate in Micro and Macro thinking that includes visual, and performing arts. Technology and life skills are entrenched for a strong foundation in the skills needed for life success in the 21st Century.  The Foundation Academy supports the whole child by including daily Bible study, Ti Chi,  farming, health and wellness through sports. Nadia is a lifelong advocate for people in systemic poverty and inclusion. She knows that a life is inspired by knowing that God has a plan and purpose for each one of us, making you invaluable to your community now and in the future service of work and other chosen endeavors.

Sandra Howard-Simmons

A retired Leader in Urban Education systems; is a Jacksonville, Fl. based Pastoral Care provider for The FoundationAcademy (tFA) , k-12 Christian school. She is a lifelong literacy education advocate, who provides professional development in administration(leadership certification support), special education (inclusion of diverse learners), and instruction (diagnostic/prescriptive approach).

Robert Reddy

Robbie Reddy is an award-winning director, producer, editor and showrunner known for his visually captivating storytelling and versatility across various genres. His work has spanned all the major UK networks, and ranges from helming the popular online dating series “Catfish” for MTV LA, to BBC documentaries, like ‘Black British Style’ for BBC2. 

In Music Entertainment, Robbie has produced high-profile televised events such as ‘Emporio Armani Red – For One Night Only’, headlined by Beyoncé and Giorgio Armani for Channel 4. His expertise in live broadcasts of major events includes The Isle of Wight Music Festival on Sky, The MOBO Awards featuring John Legend and Lauryn Hill for BBC 1, and The Secret Concert for Telemundo US. 
Robbie has worked across the globe interviewing luminaries like Celine Dion, David Bowie, Coldplay, and Victoria Beckham to name only a few, and has also directed the Mercury Music Awards, Glastonbury Music Festival specials. He recently collaborated with legendary music producers Jam and Lewis, creating animated music videos for two of their tracks featuring Toni Braxton and Mary J. Blige.

Dorian hollingsworth, jr.

Dorian Hollingsworth Jr, 22, is the Founder and Executive Director of Teen Care Network, a passionate and driven leader dedicated to supporting his community and empowering youth to prioritize mental health. Known for his commitment to normalizing mental health conversations in communities of color, Dorian embodies the ethos of a ‘Love Revolutionary,’ believing in the transformative power of respect and love for all. Through Teen Care Network, Dorian bridges the gap between care and community by offering free mental health resources to teens and fostering positive discussions about mental health. Central to the organization’s mission are Teen Care Advocates, volunteers who create safe spaces and provide support through active listening, collaborative problem-solving, and resource connections. Recognized as an Invested Faith Fellow, recipient of Hope Center Harlem’s Hope In Action Award, and a 2023 McDonald’s Black & Positively Golden Change Leader, Dorian now serves on the Board of Trustees for The Accountability Initiative, continuing his impactful advocacy for mental health and community empowerment.

Lindsey Spalding

Lindsey Spalding, a visionary in the field of Modeling, Simulation, and Training (MS&T), holds the role of Director of Workforce Development at the National Center for Simulation (NCS) in Orlando, Florida. Her mission revolves around balancing the worlds of educational theory and application practice through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education, and the arts, creating a robust network that empowers educators, students, community members, and the high-tech MS&T workforce.


Lindsey is a dynamic collaborator, working alongside industry experts from government, the Department of Defense, academia, and private enterprise. Her work centers on
cultivating authentic integrated STEAM learning experiences that seamlessly incorporate MS&T tools, knowledge, and skills to enhance STEAM education. The ultimate goal of MS&T workforce development is to nurture a dynamic, forward-thinking workforce capable
of addressing and resolving global challenges.

Dr. Cherisa I. Jerez

Dr. Cherisa I. Jerez is a proud Latina originally from Miami, Florida.
She served in the US Army as both a Signal and Finance Officer, earning the rank of Major in 2017. She holds a BBA, Accounting from University of Texas at El Paso, an MBA from Webster University and a DBA, International Business from Liberty University.

She currently serves as Co-founder and Vice President of Operations for Ashire Technologies & Services, Inc. a company specializing in cybersecurity for government systems. As a local Central Florida business leader, Cherisa & her husband, are building a reputation for supporting cybersecurity compliance requirements for federal information systems throughout the US. Their company was recently selected to participate in the DoD Mentor/Protégé program. They are a SDVOSB and support the training and transitioning of active-duty military through the Skills Bridge program sponsored by the DoD.

In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Cherisa is also publishing her debut novel in February of 2025, titled AT THE ISLAND’S EDGE through Lake Union Publishing. She lives in St. Cloud, FL with her husband and youngest daughter.

Raechel Canipe

As Founder and CEO of Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship, Raechel Canipe personally finances access to crucial tech resources for over 3,000 women across Florida. Raechel is also the Vice President of Marketing & Sales at RevStar, where she integrates corporate social responsibility into core business operations to uplift the next generation of tech leaders through programs like Operation Partnership and Girls Who Code. Previously, Raechel supported the evacuation of over 100 Afghans after the fall of Kabul as one of the founding officers of Project Afghan Relief Fund, a tech for good initiative. Raechel’s legacy of community impact is recognized with several honors and awards, including TBBJ Business Woman of the Year Nominee, DeAnne Dewey Roberts Emerging Leader Finalist, USF Distinguished Alumni Award, and Tampa Bay Inno Fire Award Recipient.

Lindse Murphy

Lindse Murphy, with her extensive background in psychology, business administration, and healthcare administration, now serves as the Chief Relationship Officer and Manager of the Altamonte Global Innovation Lab. A Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, Lindse has a rich clinical experience with diverse mental health challenges. She has held leadership roles in top healthcare systems, developing and managing behavioral health programs. Known for her advocacy in suicide awareness and public speaking across the country, Lindse is dedicated to integrating behavioral health insights into innovative tech solutions, enhancing both organizational and community wellbeing. Her leadership is marked by a deep commitment to mental health, resilience, and effective, compassionate innovation.

serves as Secretary on the board for Women in Defense Central Florida Chapter which
engages, cultivates, and advances women in all aspects of national security. Diane achieved

with higher education and developing leaders and entrepreneurs of the future. As an instructor

Vanessa is a Florida native, born and raised in Oviedo and currently living in Tampa. Dexter Hadley, MD/PhD

Dexter Hadley, MD/PhD translates big data into precision medicine and digital health. His research generates, annotates, and ultimately reasons over large multi-modal data stores to develop predictive models of clinical intelligence. He earned his PhD in genomics and computational biology while at medical school at University of Pennsylvania, and he trained in clinical pathology while at residency at Stanford. He first became faculty at University of California San Francisco where he won various grant funding for developing deep learning methods in medicine including over $5M from NIH. His contributions have yielded well over 60 peer-reviewed publications in precision medicine to develop novel interventions, identify novel biomarkers and potential therapeutics for disease. He has been giving invited lectures around the globe on leveraging AI/ML in clinical applications. Dr. Hadley is the Founding Chief of Artificial Intelligence at University of Central Florida, College of Medicine where he is building a community of patients, clinicians, and data scientists to turn his vision for Community Driven AI into reality.

Marc Vena began drawing at an early age winning his first city wide art contest in the first grade. Marc was continually encouraged to pursue art by his devoted mother and father, Sam and Alice Vena who were accomplished artists and teachers themselves. He went on to obtain his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a specialization in Illustration from California State University, Long Beach in 1992. Soon after gaining his degree, Marc embarked on a career as a storyboard artist and illustrator in the movie industry. Alexis Dorman was born and raised in Orlando, Florida and is a rising senior at Florida State University, pursuing dual degrees in International Affairs and Political Science with a minor in education. Alexis is the Founder and CEO of CAFYIR Inc. 501c3 (Career Aid For Young Immigrants and Refugees), an active member of FSU Student Government, and a Civic Leadership Fellow for the National Student PIRGs. As the Chief Operating Officer for the National Center for Simulation (NCS) in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Finkelstein works alongside NCS industry members on shared challenges that cut across government, academic, and industry in the research, development, and acquisition of training aids, devices, simulations, and simulators (TADSS) to lead NCS on the promotion, protection, and growth of the Florida Modeling, Simulation, and Training community.

Before working at NCS Dr. Finkelstein served in the Department of Defense for 31 years. He has served as an evangelist building Government, industry, and academic partnerships in the Modeling, Simulation, and Training community. He is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Finkelstein also holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Finkelstein holds a certificate in Program Management from the Army School of Engineering and Logistics at Texarkana, Texas. Dr. Finkelstein also served at the Pentagon while supporting the establishment of the Army Modeling and Simulation Office in Alexandria, VA. He has chaired or participated in 47 Source Selection Evaluation Boards, authored/co-authored over 70 technical publications, is a Faculty Scholar, has been an Adjunct Professor, and Senior Advisor to the University of Central Florida School of Modeling, Simulation and Training. Dr. Finkelstein sits on numerous boards to include The longest-serving member on the Team Orlando Board of Directors, Valencia State College, Daytona Beach State College, Florida Governor’s Defense Alliance, Central Florida I-4 High Technology Corridor, Chair of the Florida Polytechnic University Engineering Board of Directors and is the Director of STEM Camp Orlando, a partnership STEM Camp involving NASA, Universal Studios, VA SimLearn Center, and Nicolson Robotics Surgery Center.

Throughout my academic journey, I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition for my innovative projects. From winning prestigious awards at Lockheed Martin, the United States Metric Association, Florida State and Engineering Science Fair, to being honored at events like the Ying Expo Science Fair, Beusse-Sanks Patent Award, Thermo Fishers Top 300, and the Lemelson Early Inventor Award, I’ve been driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact through my work.

Beyond my achievements in the realm of innovation, I’m deeply enthusiastic about aviation and Artificial Intelligence. The endless possibilities these fields offer for exploration and advancement never fail to inspire me. Whether I’m delving into the intricacies of flight dynamics or diving deep into neural networks, I’m constantly seeking to expand my understanding and contribute to the evolution of these cutting-edge technologies.

While academics and innovation are central to my life, I also find joy and fulfillment in extracurricular pursuits. You’ll often find me on the basketball court, where I not only hone my skills but also cultivate teamwork and leadership. Additionally, I’m a proud drummer of the school band.

Rose Lejiste

Rose LeJiste is the CEO of RL Engineering and Tech Solutions, a consulting firm whose primary clients consist of government agencies, government contractors, and corporations. Rose holds a bachelors
degree in Industrial Engineering from UCF and and then moved on to establish a foundation in her career during her 15 years at Kennedy Space Center. She is an epic expert at solutions development and has
over 20 years of expertise in advanced data analytics, business intelligence, AI, robotic process automation, process analysis, process reengineering, root cause analysis, frontend and backend solution development and performance management. She holds professional certifications in business intelligence, data analytics and Lean Six Sigma. She turned Tech CEO in 2019 when she founded RL Engineering and Tech Solutions.

Rose plays an active role as an advocate and collaborator in the Florida innovation and tech community. She sits on the Impact Board for Synapse Florida and is on the Board of Directors for First Tee Central Florida. She has been an active member of Black Women in AI for over 4 years and has participated in multiple AI, machine learning, autonomous vehicles and computer vision projects, which the organization led in ongoing partnership with NVIDIA. Rose was named a 2023 Orlando Business Journal Women Who Means Business Honoree, 2023 NAWBO Orlando’s Women Who Win Established Business Award, and is an alumni of Leadership Orlando Class 103.

Rose’s ecosystem building work includes, but is not limited to, a two-year tenure as Executive Director of an Orlando-based tech nonprofit committed to accelerating minority economic advancement through careers and entrepreneurship in tech; developing and facilitating entrepreneurial development programs that equipped underrepresented startup founders with business knowledge, skillsets, education, and resources; leading an initiative focused on assessing the small business ecosystem in Orange County/Orlando area; creating a business certification program focused on small minority-owned businesses with the objective of educating, instructing, guiding, and assisting qualified participants in obtaining Florida business enterprise certifications and with the goal of improving and increasing equitable business opportunities for said target audience.

Rose also uses her experience to speak at various tech conferences, mentor and provide guidance to young people of color. She enjoys volunteering within her community sharing her lessons learned from life
experiences and her STEM expertise.

Matt brings 20+ years of experience in the creative and advertising industries, spanning graphic design, animation, branding, concept development, interactive, web3, and AI. Matt has worked at agencies large and small on clients such as Absolut, Sprint, Amex, A&E Networks, McDonalds, Showtime, Universal Studios and more.

Beginning with childhood sketches in St. Louis, Opé has ascended to a renowned freelance fashion stylist, inspired by luminaries like Alexander McQueen. Her unique style earned her a top spot at AI Fashion Week 2023, and her work has been highlighted on the BBC Click TV Show and at events like The AI Summit NY. As a futurist and metaverse expert, Opé pushes the boundaries of AI art and fashion NFTs, with her visionary designs featured in exhibitions from Tokyo to Milan. Through projects like The Metaverse Meetup and collaborations with Revolve.com, her innovative approach invites us to reimagine the future of fashion, merging elegance with the latest technology.

david Dawkins

David Dawkins is Managing Director in National Sales of Wealth & Investment Management (WIM). Today, he is focused on leading efforts in the Black and African American Segment and the ASCEND Business
Development coaching program. He has more than 40 years of financial industry experience and was the first African American to serve on Wells Fargo Advisors’ Operating Committee. He is committed to the
advancement of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; he co-Chairs the WFA Black African Initiative, was the Executive Advisor to the Black & African American Connection Employee Resource Network and serves on the Wells Fargo Black Executive Forum.

Previously, David was the Director of Wells Fargo Advisors’ Diverse Client Segments team. Prior to that, he was a Market Manager for Wells Fargo Advisors in Orlando, FL and the St. Louis, MO Major Market. In those roles, he led branch managers, financial advisors and support teams in building Wealth Management business practices to help clients succeed financially. Dawkins began his career with Wells Fargo Advisors in 2011. Before joining the company, he served in many different roles as a financial advisor, branch manager, regional director, regional sales manager and Business Development Consultant with several firms, including UBS, Bear Stearns, Oppenheimer and Company, and Merrill Lynch, where he started his career.

David is a member of the SIFMA Foundation board. He is also very passionate about advocating for at-risk youth and quality education for future generations of students; he currently serves on the Strategic Advisory
Council at the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, which partners with businesses and foundations to increase student achievement in Florida K-12 public schools.

Kathryn Taylor Smith (Memphis, TN) holds a B.S. in Psychology and a M.S. in Clinical Psychology. Kathryn is a former Miss KS USA, a four-time NCAA All American inTrack & Field and has been featured as one of KC Magazine’s “Top 30 Under 30.”

Kathryn worked as a domestic abuse counselor at a battered women shelter in Kansas City, MO., before moving to LA to pursue acting.Kathryn’s most recent credits include the plays For Colored Girls and Jesus Hopped The A Train. Her TV appearances include Shameless, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Black-ish, Hawaii Five-O, The Rookie, Better Things, Future Man, Famous In Love and Scorpion. She has also appeared in national commercials for Ford and Microsoft and a national print ad for T-Mobile and Auvi-Q. Kathryn also writes and produces independent projects: The Marriage Lottery, Homeless Destiny, Kai and Mouthpiece.
